{Nature's Snow Tree}

One of my favorite Christmas books to read to the boys is called The Snow Tree. It's a story about a bear who awakes to a world of white winter snow, but then his forest friends find objects from nature that add color to their forest tree.

This sweet story was the inspiration for our simple tree this year. I know it's silly, but I always think about how the tree had to give it's life for us to enjoy, so I need to put time and thought into decorating it.

I picked pinecones from our yard and painted the tips white and hung them with yarn.

I used modge podge and old book pages along with some printed animal images to cover some old ornaments. I just love how they turned out!

I found some fun animal ornaments at Walmart and Target and some cute little glass pinecones.

And wrapped all our packages in brown kraft paper, plain white, and some fun owl printed paper from Target, and yarn to match the ornaments.  The boys and I will still string some cranberries to finish it off.
